• 2019 - Position 58

Match Play. Red leads 4-1 to 7. Should Red redouble? If redoubled, should White take?

If Red redoubles, White will take and immediately redouble to 8 for the match.

If White drops he will trail 1-6 with approximately 10% winning chances. He easily has better than 10% here. In fact, his winning chances are 15.5%.

Red is not far enough into his doubling window to redouble here – he should hold the cube. Redoubling is an error but not a blunder.

At this score I'd be extremely wary of recubing, even in this strong position. No redouble/Take.

No redouble/take. Red must come closer to White's dropping point.
