Money Play. How should Red play 65?

To hit or not to hit? Does hitting give up Red’s anchor on White’s 2-pt too early?

Without Red having his own four-point prime the answers would be simple. Move one checker from Red’s bar-point to his 6-pt and hitting would be an horrendous blunder.

As it is hitting is correct. Red must play 23/17*, 21/15 and hope the four-point prime does its job. 21/16, 21/15 attempts to build an ever better block but, of course, Red may never get another shot. It is better to hit now. Not hitting is an error but not a blunder

Very interesting position! My feeling is that 21/15, 21/16 is right, but in a chouette I wouldn't argue against a hit.

I'm inclined to agree with Peder, but it isn't an easy decision!
