Match Play. Red leads 2-0 to 7. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?

For money it would be a double blunder not to double as Red. White’s lack of anchor costs him dearly in terms of gammons.

At the match score it is merely a blunder not to double. Red is very strong here and a gammon gets him to the Crawford Game. Go to the Pessimists Corner if you failed to double this one!

Unfortunately for Red here, his hitting numbers prohibit him from escaping.

      N/D;take.

I don't think it's too early to double, even with being ahead in the match. A doubled gammon would be great for Red, and Red has many good hit-and-point numbers, plus continuing opportunities to put a third checker back. As for White, they are ahead in the race, down in the match, and have a reasonable prime, so it should be a take. D/T
