• 2018 - Position 223

Money Play. How should Red play 22?

The question is whether the 9-pt would be an asset or a hindrance this position.

Being 26 pips after the roll the answer is the latter, particularly as the 4-pt is required to facilitate a smooth bear-in.

    The correct play is 13/11(2), 6/4(2). 13/11, 8/4, 6/4 is also OK.

I think that the pip count is the decisive factor. If Red were behind, 13/9(2) would be right. As is, the four point is top priority. Hence 6/4(2), 13/11(2).

This looks fairly straightforward, unless i'm overlooking something. 6/4(2), 13/11(2). it might be tempting to move 13/9(2), but the 4pt is screaming to be made, and as Peder has already said, red is comfortably ahead in the race.
