Money Play. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?

Any gap in the home board in front of the opposing anchor is likely to cause problems during the bear-in and in this position Red’s open 5-pt gives White just enough chances to take Red’s strong double.

Of course White needs a nigh-on perfect home board of his own in order to take the double because then he can contain any hit blot. In this position White has a strong enough home board.

D/T. The open 5-point is a liability. The funny thing is that I am not sure how to play 21 for Red. He can fix the problem, but 8/6, 8/7 is a strong alternative.

Agree with Peder. Clear double, and most probably a take due to the awkward bear-in for red. I would have no dilemna though with a 2-1 roll - I'd make the 5pt immediately.

White is likely to hold on to his 22 point for just a couple of rolls. And I don't think it will generate very many shots. D/P.
