Money Play. How should Red play 65?

This is a question of putting the checkers where you want them.

8/2*, 6/1 just looks wrong despite minimising shots.

Red should just make his 3-pt with 9/3, 8/3. The resulting position is much easier to develop than the one arising after 8/2*, 6/1. In addition it gives Red an additional home board point which will be useful if there is an exchange of hits.

9/3, 8/3. The alternative 8/2*, 6/1 is too ugly to contemplate.

      I like Peder's play here.
